Monaco Auction Week by Artcurial : Save the date
For the 10th consecutive year, Artcurial will take up residence in its summer quarters at the Hôtel Hermitage in Monte-Carlo between 18 and 23 July for a series of sales dedicated to the finest luxury collectors’ items : Jewellery, Watches and Hermes Vintage.
The Monegasque Rendez-vous
Founded in 2002, Artcurial confirmed its position as the leading French auction house in 2014. Artcurial covers all the major specialist fields, from the Fine and Decorative Arts to Collectibles and will delight us this year in Monte-Carlo between 18 and 23 July with Jewellery, Watches and Hermes Vintage.
With François Tajan wielding the gavel, bidders from Asia, America, Russia and Europe congregate to discover some genuine works of art. This Monegasque rendez vous continues to be one of the most eagerly anticipated sales of the year, and realised some 14 M€ / 19 M$ in 2014, with around 35 different nationalities represented.

Jewellery, Watches and Hermes Vintage
In 2014, bidders fought over two exceptional stones mounted in rings : a splendid diamond of 16,87 cts D, IF, type « IIa », mounted by Van Cleef & Arpels, that fetched 1,8 M€ , and a fancy vivid blue 2.39 ct diamond that sold for 1,8 M€.
In 2015, alongside the prestigious signature pieces from the Place Vendôme and historic pieces such as a Raymond Templier brooch and items of jewellery by Cartier, Boucheron and Marchak, the jewellery department at Artcurial will offer a 22.80 ct « Royal Blue » cabochon Kashmir sapphire (estimate : 400 000 – 500 000 € ) and a pear-shaped fancy light pink 4.59 ct diamond, (estimate : 230 000 – 250 000 € ).
Having set a new world record in 2014 for a Rolex Daytona Paul Newman Panda Tropical that sold for 336 600 € including premium in Monaco, Artcurial will this year offer a prestigious selection of 30 Rolex watches from 1930s to the present day, including 7 lots from the Collection of a Gentleman.
A star of watch auctions, Patek Philippe will be represented by a splendid watch from 2007, a rare perpetual calendar chronograph bracelet in 18K white gold (estimate : 130 000 – 180 000 € ). Other exceptional lots include two subscription watches numbered 8/300 (pocket and wrist watch), by Breguet and estimated to fetch 200 000 – 250 000 € . Finally, there will be nearly 50 Cartier lots to bid for in the auction.
Since 2005, the Hermès vintage sales created by Artcurial have become an international reference. Year after year, the auction house continues to build on its position as market leader in this domain.
Exceptional items are to be found in the annual Monte-Carlo sale, attracting « fashionistas » and collectors from around the world. They will once again discover a hundred carefully chosen lots : special orders, unique items and iconic designs created form rare and exotic leathers. Of note is this magnificent « Kelly-Golf » bag (estimate : 15 000 – 20 000 € ).
