Natural home
From the outset, the goal of the design has been to make Villa Amanzi harmonise with its location and surroundings. Nestled in a cascading, west facing ravine with a dramatic slab of rock defining the northern edge, Villa Amanzi features a stunning outlook over the azure blue of the Andaman Sea to the south.
To do justice to this spectacular site, Villa Amanzi maximizes the exquisite natural features of the surroundings, from the magnificent ocean views to the west, the majestic granite rock formation that forms the north boundary of the villa site to the natural forest that covers the Kamala headland.
Villa Amanzi grows out from the rock. At certain locations one is almost forced to touch the rock; at others it is viewed from a distance, but it is always there inside and outside the house, an architectural constant.
Constant reference to these natural elements instills a feeling of solidity that contrasts with the openness of the house, reinforcing the dynamism and vibrancy that pays homage to the magic of the location.
Contemporary design
Villa Amanzi was designed as a very open and natural home. In addition, the sheer rock face to the north, the sea to the west and a ravine to the south create natural barriers enhancing the feeling of seclusion. Coupled with the openness and dynamism of the house, a true feeling of wellbeing is experienced.
You enter the villa along steps, which lead through a sloping tropical garden before crossing the entrance pond into an expansive, open-plan living area. This tranquil design features 18m long glass doors that slide back to provide a natural flow from the entrance garden, through the living area, across the pool deck and on to the magnificent views of the Andaman Sea.
The level above the main living area is the main bedroom wing housing four en-suite bedrooms with all bedrooms and bathrooms having unobstructed panoramic sea views. The level below the main living area consists of a large family room, with a 52inch TV, a table tennis table and a small bar area as well as 2 further en-suite bedrooms also with sea views.
In addition, the lower level has a massage area and adjacent Jacuzzi bath with spectacular views through the tree canopy to the sea.
