A new gem of luxury in Mykonos: Hotel Anandes
On 16 June 2024, Mykonos will welcome a new era of luxury with the opening of the Anandes Hotel. Perched atop a hill, this exceptional property offers an unrivalled location, close to the vibrant bustle of Mykonos town while guaranteeing a peaceful retreat. The Anandes Hotel promises its future guests breathtaking panoramic views of the island and the Aegean Sea.
Located at the highest point of the picturesque old town of Mykonos (Chora), the hotel dominates the bright white houses and the emblematic windmills, offering a majestic view of the azure Aegean Sea. The Anandes hotel is a tribute to timeless Greek elegance, redefining the chic style of the Cyclades and reintroducing intimate luxury to the island of Mykonos.
This prestigious establishment invites its guests to an unforgettable experience, where every detail has been carefully thought out to offer a setting of refinement and sophistication, while respecting the natural beauty and authenticity of the island.
A fusion of tradition and modernity
The Anandes hotel, designed by Studio Bonarchi, represents a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, embodying timeless elegance on the island of Mykonos. Every detail, meticulously orchestrated, reflects this unique vision. Karim El Chiaty, owner of Anandes, says: ‘Anandes is a declaration of love to vintage Mykonos – a tribute to the timeless Greek elegance and charm for which the island has been famous since its earliest days. We are fortunate to be nestled in a location with breathtaking views of the island and the Aegean Sea at sunset, yet close to the hustle and bustle of Mykonos town.’
The rooms of the Anandes hotel, bathed in natural light, captivate with their sophisticated design. Combining traditional elements with a contemporary aesthetic, they offer a refined atmosphere where every piece of furniture and every work of art contributes to creating an unforgettable sensory experience. Bespoke works of art by renowned artists such as Richard Serra, Thomas Houseago and Philippe Antonioz enrich this already sumptuous space, highlighting the beauty of natural stone, pine wood, linen fabrics and bronze details.
The entrance hall greets visitors with an aura of grandeur, thanks to the custom lighting designed by artist Philippe Antonioz. This first impression hints at the majesty that characterises the entire establishment. Architect Vangelis Bonios, founder of Studio Bonarchi, expresses the philosophy behind the design of the Anandes hotel: ‘Our vision celebrates Greek light as the most precious of gifts, giving this place a unique aura above the town of Mykonos’.
The rooms and suites at Anandes embody discreet luxury in an elegant and soothing setting. The use of noble materials such as natural stone and pine wood, combined with delicate fabrics and touches of rattan, create a harmonious palette in dialogue with the surrounding landscapes. Each room is an oasis of comfort, carefully equipped to meet the most demanding needs of guests. High-end products from brands such as Bang & Olufsen, bespoke bedding and toiletries by Frédéric Malle add a touch of sophistication to the experience.
Gastronomy honoured with La Petite Maison (LPM)
The internationally renowned restaurant La Petite Maison (LPM), inspired by the French Riviera, will occupy an impressive open-air space by the pool. With a capacity of 125 covers, this restaurant will mark the inauguration of the group’s tenth international establishment, taking its first steps on the island of Mykonos.
Designed by the prestigious interior design firm Sagrada, founded by David d’Almada, the restaurant’s aesthetic will be in perfect harmony with Anandes’ ethic, paying homage to the enduring charm of Mykonos while incorporating subtle references to Greek mythology in the finishes. Open to hotel guests throughout the day, the restaurant will also offer its services to the public for dinner, creating a culinary oasis before the start of Mykonos’ vibrant nightlife. Nicolas Budzynski, CEO of LPM, shares his enthusiasm: “We are delighted by this new collaboration in one of the most exclusive locations in the world”.
Guests at Anandes will have the pleasure of sampling an exquisite selection of starters such as Sea Bass Ceviche with Truffle Ponzu and Burrata and Tomato Tartine, as well as main courses such as Wagyu Sandwich with Focaccia or Grilled Prawns with Pita Bread. Breakfast will be no slouch either, with refined dishes such as Provençal eggs, French toast with fresh berries and mascarpone whipped cream, and a tomato tart with feta and basil. To accompany these delights, a sophisticated cocktail list will be on offer, including timeless classics such as the Tomatini, which is a must-try in all LPM establishments.
