An amazing rarity
Bentley’s Continental models were born in 50’s. They were built for long-distance journeys with amazing luxury, and have inspired high-performance lightweight vehicles you are used to see, like the S-Type.
Bentley S1 Continental was produced between 1955 and 1959 and only 431 cars, which 95 were Park Ward cars and further more, only 24 were left-hand drive cars, such as Europe Auto Classic Cars model.
These copies of Bentley S1 Continental are particularly equipped with a tough 4.9 cylinders engine, that has been untouched on the present model. However, this one has been improved to obtain higher compression, more effective yoke and a new exhaust that improves the vehicle’s performance. Concerning safety, the chassis has been improved too and is know equipped with hydraulic sevro-brakes. Then the car cumulates comfort, performance and safety.
60 years of elegance
This Bentley S1 Continental has been delivered for the first time in Paris in 1957 to Madam Periere (it can be proved by the documents provided with the vehicle). After this first youth, the car has had a complete restoration during three years at Hillier Hill, world-renowned Bentley’s specialist.
At the end of this rejuvenating cure in 2015, Europe Auto Classic Cars’ Bentley S1 Continental has found its original Tudor Grey color, but also its Beige Vaumol leather from Conolly on the seats. In order to be more like the original version, the pieces that were once numbered have found their numbers again on new plates made with Cadmium, as Bentley did in the 50’s.
But the Bentley S1 Continental remains contemporary thanks to new ventilation, new air-conditioning as well as a His Master’s Voice radio station with an Ipod dock, and even safety belts made in the same leather as the saddlery.
