Donkervoort announces a new limited series with the stunning D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition
For these who love rare and uncommon cars with amazing speed, prepare yourself to be conquered by Donkervoort’s D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition. This “sport automobile” that doesn’t look like any other one is absolutely exceptional, with both its look and prowess on circuit.
The car that breaks all records
D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition is based on the previous D8 GTO and its amazing prowess registered on the Bilster Berg circuit in 2014. Indeed, the D8 GTO became at that time the fastest production car registered for road on a circuit, with fastest circuit time ever recorded. So, willing to improve and develop this car again and again, Donkervoort wished to go even further with this limited edition and its 14 cars, 14 as in year 2014.
Based on the D8 GTO, D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition reveals many improvements and higher speeds with better adhesion than its grand sister, with the Performance Plus specification, but also a new chassis and a better handling. The R5 TFSI 2.5L engine was built by Audi and now responds even faster to the acceleration, coming with an ultra-light wheel and a race clutch. New dampers and tyres specially imagined for the supercar were also added to this version.
The “bad boy” look
D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition isn’t too far from the D8 GTO in terms of design but remains unique. As the D8 GTO, it has a sharp “nose” made with carbon fibre that reinforces its “bad boy” look. This characteristic makes this car immediately recognizable among its rivals.
You can find carbon fibre elements inside and outside the D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition, but also new high-tech and design elements such as its recording LED screen with GPS and a special emblem with a bespoke dashboard. If you have delusions of grandeur, you can also add on the dashboard a plate with your name on it and your D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition’s number. Then, the seats are made with carbon and special leather that, associated with its ultra-light carpet allow weight saving.
Finally, this lighter interior is fully customisable, as for the exterior of the D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition. You can add whatever you want and any other option with any other colour. However, there is still one thing that couldn’t be changed: its price. Indeed the D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition will be sold at 194.000€, but that shouldn’t scare these who love sensational cars!
