Ford GT 66 Heritage Edition: a stunning black lady is coming in 2017 in a limited edition
Ford has revealed the photos of next Ford GT 66 Heritage Edition, a limited edition designed for the 50th anniversary of Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon victories at Le Mans, driving a GT40 Mark II. For this unique edition, Ford GT 66 Heritage Edition reveals unique colours and reminds us subtly the characteristics from the mythical previous model.
Unique exterior colour
What immediately strikes us with Ford GT 66 Heritage Edition, is its Shadow Black exterior available in gloss or mat finish. The doors and the bonnet wear white or silver stripes and the number 2, that remind the number of former champions and their conquering GT40.
Add to its savage look and colours, 20-inch one-piece forged aluminium wheels in gold satin like the former GT40. That was the manufacturer’s purpose to bring Ford GT 66 Heritage Edition where it all started with the Ford GT. A goal we notice again with the interior of the supercar.
The memory of GT40
Inside Ford GT 66 Heritage Edition, you find the mythical colours of GT40, more precisely with the blue belts and leather wrapped steering wheel.
What’s new in Ford GT 66 Heritage Edition are the carbon-fiber seats in Ebony leather, with pillowed inserts for more comfort. The steering wheel and head restrains are also debossed with the Ford GT logo.
Then on the instrument panel and pillars you can find the headliner with Ebony-leather wrap, but also gold appliques as in the 1966 model. The only difference with Ford GT 66 Heritage Edition stands in its Bi-turbo V6 3.5L ecoboost engine and its 620hp, coupled to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
Ford didn’t revealed how much cars will be produced, but we can imagine that Ford GT 66 Heritage Edition will not exceed 1000 copies. However, we can confirm that the first deliveries will come from 2017!
