Kerbedanz signs a watch named “Maximus” equipped with the largest flying tourbillon in the world
Swizz watchmaker Kerbedanz has already revealed its know-how through its unique creations that are all so amazing. Add to these watches Kerbedanz Maximus Tourbillon that is now the world’s largest wristwatch flying tourbillon.
The Name’s Greatness
The name “Maximus” has been chosen for Kerbedanz Maximus Tourbillon referring to Antique Rome’s history. Indeed, this name was used to design the city’s greatest figures: the Great Pontiff in the Pontiff’s College, Roman emperors and then the biggest of all monuments: Circus Maximus.
This one was the starting point of Kerbedanz Maximus Tourbillon, referring to its amazing dimensions that remain the watch’s properties. In fact, the arena was the biggest of all Roman Antiquity representing 621m long and 118m large. It could welcome up to 150.000 spectators after the last transformations. And Kerbedanz Maximus Tourbillon possesses itself gigantic dimensions.
The Biggest Flying Tourbillon
Let’s speak about the watch itself. Kerbedanz Maximus Tourbillon owns a giant central flying tourbillon KRB-08 mounted on a 27 mm diameter cage. The tourbillon makes a complete rotation in six minutes and turns at a 2.5-Hertz frequency, or about 18.000 vibrations per hour.
Thanks to its dimensions and properties, Kerbedanz Maximus Tourbillon has a 60h power reserve, powered by four parallel barrels. The watch is built with a total of 415 components, which 34 are rubies, and the titanium cage owns itself 75 components. Truly indestructible!
With such impressive dimensions, Kerbedanz Maximus Tourbillon reveals all the tourbillon splendour and functioning. The watch is decorated with all Haute Horlogerie’s codes: polished bevelling stretched piece’s flanks, mirror-polished screws. The case is in 18-karat gold but can also be chosen in 49mm-diameter titanium. The glass and the back of the case are in antireflective sapphire glass, and the watch is waterproof up to 300m. Finally, the dial is also made with massive gold, while the bracelet is in Mississippians alligator with 18 karats buckle.
This watch is limited to 99 pieces and its price is still non-communicated, but you can be sure that this one will be as daunting as Kerbedanz Maximus Tourbillon!
