Rolex Perpetual Air-King: Rolex embodies its know-how about the aviation world
Rolex signed a new model for its Oyster collection: the Rolex Perpetual Air-King, true homage to the aviation prowess during its golden age, and true symbol of its collaboration with the famous watchmaker. An ultra-powerful watch that only Rolex holds the secret.
The homage to the golden age of aviation
This new Oyster model has a 40mm case made with 904L steel, and a black dial that reveals big 3,6 and 9 numbers for the hours. On the Rolex Perpetual Air-King’s dial, you can find the Rolex yellow and green logo, which is totally new. The seconds reminds the green color, which totally represents the House, and the minutes are highlighted to ease the reading of the navigation time.
Because it is truly to the aviation world that Rolex Perpetual Air-King pays homage, reminding us with a bit of nostalgia the first long-haul flights from the 30’s, or again the expeditions organized in 1933 such as the first flight above the Everest, in which Rolex took part already.
The Oyster has guided the aviation’s pioneers in extreme weather conditions, that is why the Rolex Perpetual Air-King possesses a Rolex-made technology that allow the watch to achieve amazing prowess.
Going beyond the limits of power
Rolex Perpetual Air-King has, alike all the Oyster watches, an officially certified superlative chronometer, extremely precise, and more than the official chronometers.
Rolex Perpetual Air-King has indeed passed many tests to prove its superlatives performances on the wrist, but also its waterproofness, the self-winding capacity and the power reserve. That is why Rolex is today the best proof of watchmaking excellence, because all its products are carefully handcrafted, assembled and tested by the house.
Concerning performances, Rolex Perpetual Air-King warranties waterproofness until 100 meters, but also a crystal in virtually scratchproof sapphire. Another innovation is the shield that protects against magnetic fields, what was very useful to the great pilots of the past.
Naturally robust and elegant, Rolex Perpetual Air-King is equipped with the 3131 calibre, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely imagined by Rolex, that warranties stability even when the temperatures vary and that faces all day shocks. The Air-King movement is only visible and accessible by Rolex’s watchmakers, with extremely rigorous quality criteria.
Finally, the Oyster bracelet in 904L steel features the ingenious Rolex-patented Easylink, a clever system that allows the bracelet of the Rolex Perpetual Air-King to be extended up to about 5mm for unparalleled comfort.
