Moonraker by Overmarine: a true floating palace
Launched early last year, the 165-foot yacht Moonraker has made its charter debut, cruising the Bahamas for its inaugural winter yachting season. Moonraker is the latest yacht in the high-performance semi-custom 165 Evolution series from the Italian brand Mangusta, which is a part of the Overmarine Group.
Unique in character
Compared with the other yachts in the series, Moonraker is even more unique and characterized by new ‘evo’ aesthetics.
The Owner, in fact, requested the Mangusta lines be interpreted in a more aggressive, ‘muscular‘ fashion. In perfect synergy with the designer Stefano Righini and the shipyard’s Design Department, a number of important aesthetic-structural issues were carried out.
First and foremost, the Moonraker features a new side window on the main deck, a unique pane of glass in the salon area which offers excellent visibility from the inside and allows copious amounts of natural light in. This is one of the very latest trends in yachting design.
The on-board volumes are highly impressive and Moonraker offers a top performance too, giving this term a new meaning: not only energy and stability but above all comfort.
Process control, the excellence of the composite structures used, soundproofing, vibration control and ergonomic layouts, everything has been studied in painstaking detail in order to guarantee quality, excellence and well-being on board at high speeds.
Highly sophisticated interiors
Stepping on board you are transported into a sophisticated world of fine materials, lacquering and colour: over 15 different kinds of wood, coloured veneers and lacquering have been used, all unique and very valuable, at least 10 different kinds of marble, amongst which the highly prestigious Blue Tiger Eye, considerable amounts of leather, including shagreen leather, as well as glass, mother-of-pearl, onyx….
Inside, the main saloon is decorated in a contemporary palette of silver and gray hues and houses an impressive 96-bottle wine collection and a humidor. The lower deck sleeps as many as 10 guests in four cabins, including a full-beam midship master suite with an aromatherapy steam room. A gym and a large cinema that can house an additional guest, if desired, are also below deck.
The interior volumes are echoed by the truly incredibly outdoor spaces which are ideal for relaxing in real comfort. At bow, there is a real Mediterranean lounge club with cushions and jacuzzi, that can be protected from the sun with an awning, plus a large sunbathing area.
Following the winter season, Moonraker will again be available for charter in the Bahamas with Burgess Yachts. Hurry up !
